Many thanks to the HBCS food service staff for a delicious lunch and the Creative Studies classes for the desserts and apple butter for our guests! Thank you, Rotary, for attending and engaging with us!

On Tuesday, September 23, the Port Hope AMVETS offered a Mobile Food Pantry; they generously donated fresh vegetables and fruit, and a few baked goods to the benefit of the Harbor Beach Community Schools’ Food Pantry and our partner in this service project, Harbor Beach United Methodist Church. 41 HBCS families received direct benefit of loose and pre-packaged grape and baby Roma tomatoes, large yellow and red sweet peppers, bags of miniature peppers, yellow onions, pineapples, sweet corn, Romaine lettuce, potatoes… Wednesday, September 24, the Port Hope AMVETS offered a privately funded Mobile Food Pantry at Port Hope; they generously donated a variety of bread, “kid-friendly” baked goods, meat, potatoes, a few frozen meal entrees, sweet corn, and yellow onions to the Harbor Beach Community Schools’ Food Pantry; the primary partner in our Food Pantry service project, the Harbor Beach United Methodist Church, received a “share” of this food. We are grateful for the Port Hope AMVETS, the volunteers who organized and worked tirelessly at the Port Hope events, the HBCS students who unloaded vehicles of food for the HBCS Food Pantry, and our Food Pantry partner the HB UMC. Thank you from the bottoms of our plates!

It was a busy weekend for our Pirate athletes! Our CC teams saw several runners medal and PR, our varsity football team brought home another win, and our JV volleyball team competed in their home tournament! Results from that were not available, but check out some of the fantastic shots our yearbook staff captured!
