3rd graders met up with their preschool reading buddies for March is Reading Month and read If You Give a Cat a Cupcake. Then, they worked together to create a cupcake with shapes as sprinkles!
21 Harbor Beach 8th through 11th grade students attended a leadership/sportsmanship summit at Laker High School today, March 18. The students learned about the seven pillars of team leadership and the important role of sportsmanship in educational athletics. All Pirates are striving to be ladies and gentlemen off the court and field, while being true competitors and exhibiting outstanding teamwork and sportsmanship while competing.
If you happened to drive down 5th Street near the school this afternoon and wondered what in the world the police car and bus were up to, don't worry! The PR class is collaborating with Mr. Fuller, the transportation director, and Officer Wilson, the school resource officer, on a video to showcase the upgraded bus cameras! Watch for the video tomorrow!

Today 4th graders got to have some St. Patrick's Day fun with their 2nd grade buddies! Constructing a "yummy" rainbow and sharing some giggles while completing some fun pages made our time together so much fun! ☘️

Meet senior Daniel Horetski!
The second graders are learning all about the properties of matter in science. First, we pretended we were on a field trip and ended up on a deserted island with nothing but a few things that would be in our lunch bags. We tested out the properties of these materials and then created hats that would help us survive on the island.
Then, we tested the insulating property by using different materials to see if we could tell the difference between hot and cold water bottles.
Fridays during March are DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) days! Students in PreK-5th grade classes spend time hanging out and reading a good book!

Our quiz bowl teams had another impressive performance! They competed at the Rural Schools Meet at the Tech Center today with the middle school HB2 team earning second place and HB1 placing 6th. The high school team also earned the runner up trophy! Way to go! 🏆🧠🏴☠️
