What a night for our Varsity and Freshman volleyball teams! Varsity dug themselves an 0-2 hole against Sandusky but stormed back to take the final 3 sets for the win while our Freshman team remained UNDEFEATED on the season!

Happy IT Professionals Day (yesterday, oops!), Mr. Roggenbuck and Mr. Tenbusch! Thank you for all that you do to maintain a technology-rich environment at HBCS for our students.

On Tuesday, our 4th graders completed a project-based learning activity where they saved and fixed the “Birthday Blunder”. Each group had to solve a variety of ELA puzzles to save the birthday party, which required them to problem-solve and work in teams. Many groups were successful and saved the day! 🥳

7th grade volleyball picked up another win last night in their victory over Lakers! 🏐 (Picture courtesy of HB yearbook staff.)

Check out the latest addition to the K-4 playground!
Thanks to the creative mind of teacher Ellen Yaroch, our students get to spend their recess 'kayaking'! This latest addition to the playground encourages imaginary play which fosters young children's creativity, problem solving skills, turn taking skills, enhances social emotional growth and improves language development. She got the idea after previously helping design a playground and seeing an old row boat as an idea!
Ms. Ellen would like to thank Chris Boyle, owner of Port Austin Kayak, for the kayaks, Michelle Seidl & Rachel Booms for the life jackets, Dennis & Lynn Parsons for the fishing rods, and Tom Clancy for delivering the kayaks! Paddles will be added later this week!
