Mrs. Kramer provided students with the opportunity to participate in the Huron Daily Tribune ad design contest. Students created original advertisements, demonstrating creativity, communication, and design skills. Anna Klaska earned first place overall among surrounding schools in grades 5–8 and received a plaque featuring her winning design along with a $100 gift card. Second place was awarded to Tobin Soper for an advertisement for At Your Bark-N-Call. Third place resulted in a tie between Blake Kramer, who designed an ad for Thumb Auto LLC, and Addyson Kramer, who created an advertisement for Osentoski Farm Equipment. This project allowed students to apply classroom learning in a real-world context while engaging with the local community.

Our Creative Studies Life Skills class had the opportunity to hear from financial speakers Ty Collings and Brady Krohn of Raymond James in Bad Axe, Michigan, who brought real-world knowledge directly into the classroom. Ms. McIntyre’s students were highly engaged throughout the presentation and asking thoughtful questions. They found the information very relevant and appreciated how complex financial topics were broken down into practical, easy-to-understand advice. This experience also reinforced the importance of continuing to provide lessons that prepare students for the future, equipping them with essential skills like financial literacy, decision-making, and long-term planning. Overall, the speakers made a strong impression, and students agreed it was a valuable and impactful experience.
