Thursday, October 10th is World Mental Health Day. HBCS will be joining Huron Behavioral Health and the Huron ISD in wearing green to demonstrate our commitment to supporting the mental well-being of staff and students. We encourage students to wear green in honor of this day as well!

Happy Monday! Take a look at the week ahead here at HBCS.

Hey middle schoolers! Get those costumes ready, we are excited to bring back a middle school event from the past! The middle school Halloween dance is BACK! This event is open to all Harbor Beach area middle school students including OLLH and Zion. Are you interested in chaperoning? Email Mrs. Toner at ewalsh@hbpirates.org!

It was a nailbiter in Marlette last night for JV Football!

Attention fall athletes and families: the 2024 Fall Sports photos are now available online! Check them out here: https://memoriesbyashleyphotography.pixieset.com/harborbeachsports2024-2025/

Mark you calendars, it is almost Parent/Teacher conference time!

Throughout the school year, Mr. Chilman graciously hosts opportunities for staff to stop into his office, enjoy delicious food, and chat. Today he hosted a Homecoming-themed "Orange and Black Snack Attack" and staff was treated to a delightful spread of orange and black snacks! Thanks, Mr. Chilman!

Last night was a win-filled evening for our middle school football and volleyball teams!

Today is National Custodian Day and we might be biased, but here at HBCS we have the BEST custodial staff around! Thank you to each of you for all that you do!

Check out the results of last night's middle school volleyball games!

We hope to see the sidewalks and streets of HB filled on Friday evening!

Congratulations to our cross-country runners on their phenomenal performance on Saturday and our Varsity Football team on another victory on Friday night! (Pictures courtesy of the Tribune Recorder Leader, DeAnna Wruble, and Ashley Wehner-Palmer.)

Friday was a great day to be a 5th grader! They got to enjoy the first popcorn Friday and had a pizza party for winning the Harvest Festival Scarecrow Competition. Thank you to The city of Harbor Beach for a yummy lunch!

Happy Homecoming week, Pirates! It is sure to be a busy, fun week here at HBCS!

The first PTO Popcorn Friday was a success! Check out Mrs. Seidl's class chowing down! And thanks to the generous donations from HB families, all elementary students will receive popcorn each Friday!

Don't forget, next week is Homecoming week! Show off your school spirit and have fun dressing up daily in these themes.

Here is the lunch menu for October!

If you were following along this summer, you probably saw Ms. DeDona's weekly band challenges. The winners were recently announced! Congratulations Anna, Skylar, and Kayden!

The JV football team is on a roll! They collected another W with their victory over USA last night.
(Thank you Becky Booms & Joni Reimann for allowing us to use your pictures!)

HBCS is always collaborating on school safety and security. Recently, they worked with Harbor Beach Community Hospital and Carrie Monaghan, their Assistant Director of Nursing, Trauma Program Manager and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, and Jennifer Siemen, Executive Director of Nursing for Acute Care and ER. Through a grant, HBCH donated 35 Stop The Bleed Kits to go with the 35 kits the school purchased so we can place one in every classroom. Huge thank you to HBCH and these ladies for working with us to keep our students safe and secure.
