Mr. Williams
Early beginnings
I am native to Pontiac, Michigan raised by my mom along with my three siblings. I attended Pontiac Northern High School and graduated in 2009. One of my biggest inspirations is my high school guidance counselor Ms. Beatrice Wright. It is her kindness that rings in my mind as I seek in my adulthood to positively impact the lives of young people. This is Ms. Wright and I in 2013 at my college graduation celebration. I thanked her then and I still tell her thank you whenever I see her because she would always say, "Byron, I see so much potential in you!"
College (2009-2013)
I attended Ferris State University from 2009-2013, where I earned my bachelor's degree in business administration: public relations. While in college I was high involved, participating in many extra-curricular activities.
After Graduation (2014-2016)
2014-2016
I served a 2-year mission in Georgia. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life! I During these two years I traveled all over Georgia and South Carolina. It was definitely a formative period in my life and inspired in me a passion for serving others.

Professional Career (2016-Present)
2013
I served as a hall director for Puterbaugh/Henderson Halls at Ferris State University. A fun fact about this position is that I worked for the housing department for 3 years and was offered this position, which was a Master's degree level position, before graduating with my bachelor's degree. |
2016-2018
I served as a college adviser for Owendale-Gagetown Area Schools and Harbor Beach Community Schools. In 2018 I was awarded the Ombudsmen Award for my service as a college adviser. |
2018-2019
I served as a mentor and advocate. Telos is a private boarding school that doubles as a treatment center for young men. In the summer of 2019, I was invited back to substitute for the art class and absolutely loved every moment of it. |
2014-Present
I serve doing youth motivational speaking. I speak at conferences, school functions, assemblies, graduation ceremonies, and youth organizations. My passion is speaking to youth and inspiring them to live their best lives. You can view my speeches at iambyron.org.
