Harbor Beach Pirates Fight Song
We’re loyal to you, Harbor Beach
To you we’ll be true, Harbor Beach
We’ll back you to stand against the best in the land
For we know you have sand, Harbor Beach
Rah! Rah!
So step up that ball, Harbor Beach
We’re backing you all, Harbor Beach
Our team is our fame protector
Fight on for honor and a victory for ol’ Harbor Beach
To you we’ll be true, Harbor Beach
We’ll back you to stand against the best in the land
For we know you have sand, Harbor Beach
Rah! Rah!
So step up that ball, Harbor Beach
We’re backing you all, Harbor Beach
Our team is our fame protector
Fight on for honor and a victory for ol’ Harbor Beach
Pirate Football Letter
Dear Pirate Football Player:
I hope each of you are doing well and are excited about the upcoming season. We will begin summer conditioning on Monday, July 6 from 7-9 pm at the football complex. For the month of July we will plan on conditioning each Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7-9pm. All interested 7th-12th graders interested in football are invited and encouraged to participate.
I am hopeful that we will be able to have a complete football season. I am excited about the opportunity for success that each of our three teams has in front of us. To have the type of season that each of us want we must prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally. Our preparation this year will be different and fluid because of the epidemic that we are living through. Our first priority as a staff is the health of our players.
Consequently, there are several precautions that we will take at this time to help keep us healthy. We will take individual temperatures when entering the football facility and record responses to basic health questions. We ask that any player or coach who is feeling ill to stay home and communicate with the coaching staff. We will maintain social distancing while conditioning and use minimal equipment that will be cleaned often. At this time locker rooms, restrooms, and drinking fountains will not be available. Football players should bring plenty of water and/or sports drink to each conditioning session. Players may wear masks. Players should bring cleats and tennis shoes to each session. If you do not have cleats yet you should get those soon, but you may exercise without them.
If you had a valid sports physical last year, you are not required to get one this year. But, you must fill out and sign a health questionnaire that I have or can be found at mhsaa.com. So, 7th graders and new participants who did not get a physical last year are required to get one this year. If you just want to get in good physical condition or you are interested in trying football, I encourage you to do it at this time. Harbor Beach football needs as many good people as we can get. Most people that enjoy fitness and like being a part of a team end up having an incredible experience.
If you or your parents/guardians have any questions or concerns please give me a call or shoot me an e-mail. You can contact me at tschelke@hbpirates.org or (989)550-3567. During these ever changing times, I would be surprised if there were not many questions. I look forward to seeing all of you again, and I cannot wait to get back to the grind. I know it will be enjoyable.
Go Pirates!
